Competitive Analysis - Keeping Track Of The Opposition Overview This one-day instructor-led course includes self-paced and instructor-assisted units. It provides students with the knowledge and skills to research competitive information analyse it and prepare comparative evaluations. The course focuses on use of the Internet as a research tool and students will be guided in practical on-screen Internet research. Objectives At the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Identifying the competitive factors that are of interest to determine whether focus is subsidiary or group corporate; national operation or international holding company.
  • Using Competitors own websites as sources
  • Using search engines for background information.
  • Using blogs and anti-company sites as alternatives.
  • Evaluating the merit and accuracy of conflicting data from sympathetic, hostile and neutral sources.
  • Reviewing and synthesising the data collected
  • Considering what legal or moral issues may be relevant.
