Before attending this course, students must have:

  • An understanding of the difference between Time-Division Multiplex (TDM) and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
  • Working knowledge of Gateways and Private Branch Exchange (PBX)
  • Working knowledge of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)
  • Working knowledge of Codecs
  • An understanding of Dialing plans

Students should also understand the following general concepts of:

  • Networking fundamentals, including Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol/User Datagram Protocol (TCP/IP/UDP), Domain Name System (DNS)
  • Active Directory principles and management
  • Windows Server 2008 Fundamentals
  • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
  • Exchange Messaging concepts
  • PowerShell basics
  • SQL Server concepts and operation
